1781-01-22 Roberdeau and Bald Eagle Company Resolution

“Whereas I have settled an Accott of this date with the Bald Eagle Company, connected also, with an Interest Accott calculated on the several payments and taken assurances from Nathaniel Owings and John Cockey for two fifth parts of the amount, estimated at the value of Gold, or so much of the Emission of forty for one as will purchase gold to the amount.

For the regulation of which I hold myself accountable to them for a discount of such depreciation as shall appear in the several stages of said Accotts on the scale of the Calculations Issued by Congress for the payment of public Debts taken in connection with the value of gold at the time payment is made, as I look only for the intrinsic value of a just demand, or so much paper money of the Emission of forty for one warranted by Congress as will purchase gold to the amount.
